TARDEC/NAC Opens Office at Automation Alley Headquarters

Automation Alley headquarters

Automation Alley (www.automationalley.com), southeast Michigan’s regional technology cluster, attracts the creators and consumers of diverse technologies from a variety of industries worldwide who are dedicated to stimulating the area’s high tech business environment. TARDEC has set up an office in the new headquarters, through the National Automotive Center, to better aid the development of dual-use technologies with the automotive sector and other high tech industries. The intent of this office is to interface with local companies to enhance TARDEC’s role in bolstering the state and local technology business climate while transferring technologies of mutual interest.

NAC office

The TARDEC/NAC office is staffed by and available to TARDEC associates, as required. It provides a centralized location in the Detroit metropolitan area for meeting with technology companies and providing flyers and other pertinent literature.

Auditorium

The office is located at the Automation Alley Technology Park in Troy. The building features a 2,200-square-foot glass Technology Atrium, which also serves as a meeting room and auditorium that can seat up to 100 people. Large bay doors allow for vehicle demonstrations. Integrated audio, video, wireless Internet access and computer projection systems complement the Atrium. The headquarters building also features two conference rooms that offer webcast, conference calling, and videoconferencing capabilities. TARDEC has used these facilities to present its dual-use technology briefings to small businesses, as well as to hold seminars, meetings, and technology demonstrations.

Meeting room

The Automation Alley Technology Center has been a major force in the economic development of high tech industry in the area. This alliance with TARDEC has facilitated mutual exposure and fostered collaborative opportunities that might otherwise have been missed.
