Enabling Multi-Antenna & Broadband RF Systems

  • What: This conference is designed to bring together engineers in industry and researchers in academic and government laboratories to explore opportunities in the DOD and the latest technological developments in antennas and propagation for wireless communications. It will feature presentations from government speakers from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, as well as the three services and major manufacturers. Emphasis will be on understanding the requirements and how to transition technology to meet these requirements. The workshop will include a poster session highlighting the current research in this technology area. Military to commercial technology transition will be discussed.

2010 Air Force Restoration and Technology Transfer Workshop

  • What: The 2010 Restoration and Technology Transfer Workshop (formerly known as the Technology Transfer Workshop) was designed with the theme "RIP Today, RC Tomorrow, Optimize Always." The Workshop, held in partnership with the Restoration Program Management Office (R-PMO), brings together hundreds of professionals from military services, industry, academia, and local, state, and federal agencies to translate ideas, success stories, case histories, current trends, and technologies into solutions for environmental restoration. The three-day, five-concurrent-tracks schedule, with a fourth day of optional short courses, includes over 120 technical presentations on a variety of topics; exhibitors showcasing their latest equipment, products, technology, and services; along with networking opportunities! The Workshop highlights the latest technologies with proven case studies, presented by today's leading experts. In a classroom setting, world-class presenters provide cross-feed and networking opportunities among environmental consultants, restoration managers, team chiefs, academicians, legal and public affair officers, and policy makers.

SAE World Congress 2010

  • What: The event, themed "Ecollaboration - Engage. Exchange. Excel," will be hosted by Ford Motor Company with Tier One Strategic Partner, Magna International. The event will move from a four-day event to a three-day format, and is scheduled for April 13-15 at Cobo Center in Detroit. In addition, the technical program will feature a renewed emphasis on only the most relevant and innovative technologies. Toward this, subject matter experts will open selected daily sessions, offering their futuristic vision on specific technology issues.

TARDEC Dual Use Technology Briefings & Doing Business with TACOM

  • What: This half-day program provides information on how companies developing innovative technology can do business with-and receive grant funding from-the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC). It includes an overview of TARDEC, the SBIR program, and the Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) program. TACOM provides life-cycle management command for the U.S. Army, which unites all of the organizations that focus on soldiers and ground systems throughout the entire life cycle.

Small Wood 2010 - Bridges, Business, and Biomass Conference

  • What: The theme of this year's conference is "Bridges, Business and Biomass." The objective of this conference is to provide state-of-the-art information on small-tree utilization and to foster peer-to-peer learning. Enormous quantities of woody biomass are being generated from thinning operations, land clearing, and hurricane disasters. These issues drive the need to create solutions for using low-value and waste wood. This conference will include an international slate of speakers, including researchers, material and equipment suppliers, manufacturers, and end-users.

2010 FLC National Meeting

  • What: The 2010 national meeting of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC), The Sky's the Limit, will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from April 26-29, 2010. Keynote speaker Anousheh Ansari captured headlines around the world in 2006 as the first female private space explorer, travelling to and staying onboard the International Space Station for 10 days. Afterward, she returned to her job as co-founder and chairman of her latest technology company, Prodea Systems. In her previous endeavor, in 2001 Anousheh had served as co-founder, CEO and chairman of the board for Telecom Technologies, Inc.

Public Tours of NASA's Glenn Research Center

  • What: NASA's Glenn Research Center invites the general public to tour its laboratory and testing facilities. Tours are free to all ages and available to U.S. citizens. Reservations are required and can be made up to 30 days in advance, but must be made at least one day in advance of the actual tour. The schedule of facilities to be visited during each tour is available here.
  • When: First and third Saturday of each month between April and October, departing hourly between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from the Visitors Center.
